The Origami Yogis (Christie Koppe and Tira Mills) are offering a Katonah Yoga workshop that is full of information about the Winter Season. A yoga practice and the practitioner are meant to transition and adjust throughout the year to align with the changes of the seasons. Winter is a time to slow down, reflect, and turn the awareness inwards just as the trees pull in energy from their leaves and practice conservation during the colder months. In this sense, it is a time to deepen. Learn how to work with Winter rather than against it, by understanding the cyclical shifts of nature and applying this wisdom to your yoga practice.

The Origami Yogis are offering a 2 hour workshop including: seasonal dialogue to understand the archetype of the Winter season, a Winter yoga practice, Pranayama (breathing exercises) and take-home postures to add to your home practice. Katonah Yoga is a formal, measured practice that beautifully overlays informative dialogue onto yoga postures. This is done through mathematics, geometry, measure, and magic. It engages the imagination and attunes one to the inner workings of the body and mind. Christie and Tira will offer many hands-on adjustments and personalized cues to ensure each student feels supported and expansive in their practice. Props will also be used in every posture to help level up the pose!
