Winter Gardening: Growing Food Through a West Coast Winter

It's time to get ready for winter! That's right, if you want a productive food growing garden through the winter then you need to plan ahead and get started early. Save a little space in your garden, and join Sharon Hanna, the author of The Book of Kale, to learn about growing hardy food crops in the depths of our West Coast winters.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • how to plan and preparing your garden for winter crops
  • tips on choosing your varieties
  • managing the winter climate challenges of light, wind, and temperature
  • simple season extension techniques
  • the difference between winter harvest crop and over-wintering crops

Workshop registration is available on a sliding scale of $10-$20. Please pay what you can.
