Event description

Description

Learn to love winter this year! A beginner 5K learn to run program exploring the beautiful trails at The Forks in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Get outside and enjoy winter one step at a time. Receive the motivation, accountability, guidance, tips, tools and support to build a sustainable and enjoyable habit. Building together over time with a basic run/walk ratio, you will become a runner! Much more than a learn to run program, this is a habit and tool to manage stress and anxiety, feel happier, gain strength and confidence, and feel better in your body. Make the commitment to yourself to go outside this winter and move.

Our training goal is a winter 5K TBD in early March.

We meet and train twice a week at The Forks (Sundays at 9:30am and Wednesdays at 6pm) for the months of January and February. Each run will take about 30-45 minutes start to finish (this includes guest run coach talk, run and stretch.) Our first run is Sunday, January 6th. We'll have a meet + greet 'how to dress for winter running' info session at 6:15pm on Wednesday, January 2nd at Wilderness Supply at 50 Isabel St.

What we provide:

• 16 guided runs throughout January and February

• join a community of new runners
