It’s that time of year again - time to plant some seeds and toss them outside in the snow!
About this event
We are not kidding! Join Meredith from the Backyard Caring program at The Guelph Tool library for a virtual workshop on winter sowing as part of the Urban Food Initiative brought to you in part by our Peavey Industries Community Agriculture Grant.
Tickets are available on a sliding scale, and come with a choice of "Ticket only, no kit" and "Ticket + Kit". Please choose the ticket option that works best for you and your financial situation. The workshop will take place over zoom and sessions will not be recorded. Both sessions will offer the same great information, and tickets are for a single session.
Kits will be available for pickup through the Guelph Tool Library prior to the workshop (dates TBA). To help you get started, each includes; a large pre-cut container, soil, seeds and a label. Winter Sowing is an easy and worry free way to start seeds for hardy seedlings in the spring. Many containers can work and is a great upcycling activity for all ages.
We hosted this workshop last year and have learned so much, the results were amazing and we are very excited to share this technique again.
