Join us and speaker Mike Smith from ReLeaf Chatham-Kent as we learn about dealing with Stormwater at a grassroots level!

About this event

Humans have dramatically changed the natural water cycle. Where water used to be able to soak into the ground almost anywhere, cities, paved roads and buildings have stopped that capability and water is now funnelled into aquatic habitat full of chemicals and debris. However, little things we do can make a difference. Do you feel like you want to contribute to biodiversity and resiliency in the watershed but don’t have the space to do a big habitat restoration project? Not only will planting native plants help as we discussed with Doug, but you can also help slow down and capture rain water on your property! Incorporating less impactful infrastructure into existing buildings will help your property become more resilient with today's changing climate. Greening your grounds is a practical guide to strategically help reduce runoff and its detrimental effects. Join Mike Smith from ReLeaf Chatham-Kent as he goes through this free guide book, giving you ideas and solutions to manage excess rain water and snow melt.

After you sign up for this webinar, you will receive an email giving you details on when to come and pick up your free Greening Your Grounds booklet (donated by the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise), the Wednesday prior to the webinar so you can follow along during the presentation. If you sign up after this date we will arrage for a pick up time after the presentation. If you are out of town, we can arrange shipping to you at your cost. We will be recording the event and posting it on our YouTube page afterwards. Attendance will be recorded at the live event to go towards the $50 gift card draw.
