Tour the beautiful and green GoodLot Farm and GoodLot Farmstead Brewing Company with WiRE on August 15th from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Hear about how Goodlot is the first farm-to-barrel brewery in the Greenbelt featuring fresh, hyper-local, estate-quality ales & lagers. The visit will include a tour of farm operations, history of the Headwaters area, and a tour of the brewhouse with a focus on net-zero energy systems, organic production and low carbon construction. Lunch and beer sample included.

Presentation: Solar Powered 'Farm-to-Barrel' Brewing in the Headwaters

Presenters: Gail Winters, COO & Phil Winters, Managing Partner, GoodLot Farmstead Brewing Co.

Gail Winters manages overall operations on the farm and in the brewery. Although the Ontario hop industry is still young, she is considered a veteran and is a founding member and former director of the Ontario Hop Growers Association. She is also a trained organic farmer and leads all on-farm growing and local ingredient sourcing programs. Prior to operating a hops farm, Gail managed local and international multi-million dollar film productions for 10 years, with teams of over 50 people under her guidance. She is recognized as an operational leader who can manage complex project and subcontractors simultaneously.

Managing Partner, Director of Sales and Assistant Hop Grower Phil Winters leads all outreach, public relations, sales and marketing efforts for the farm and brewery. He is a passionate environmental and community activist, who has dedicated the last 16 years to renewable energy and sustainable development in both the private and public sectors. Phil most recently directed the renewable energy business in Canada for a Fortune 500 manufacturer, and where he increased sales from $1.5 million to over $26 million dollars annually during his tenure.

Prior to this, Phil co-founded Enwise Power where he helped raised $13,000,000 and served as President. He managed a growing team (from two to over 100 employees), and increased revenue from $30,000 per month to over $1 million per month in the first year of operation. Phil spent the first decade of his career working on climate change campaigns out of Colorado.

Once purchased, there are no refunds for Field Trips but registrations can be transferred for another attendee.
