Back by popular demand: Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and the Association of Power Producers of Ontario (APPrO) proudly present “Speed Mentoring” at the 29th Annual Canadian Power Conference & Networking Centre.



This exciting FREE event is designed for men and women to participate as:

Mentors (Industry Professionals)

  • Share your knowledge and insight about the Ontario power sector
  • Provide guidance to a student entering the field
  • Help a developing professional advance their career and enrich your professional life
  • Make new contacts and contribute directly to the future of the industry


Mentee (Students & Developing Professionals)

  • Learn about the energy sector from an experienced professional
  • One on one and two on one round table mentoring
  • Make new contacts and learn about the future of the industry
  • Have a chance to tour the APPrO Power Networking Centre floor and join the reception after the “Speed Mentoring”

Event Schedule

3:00 p.m. - Arrive onsite at the APPrO Power Networking Centre

3:15 – 5:15 p.m. - Students and professionals meet one on one or two on one for a speed mentoring session

5:15 – 6:00 p.m. - Continue the conversation, or join the sector-wide APPrO reception afterwards on the Power Networking Centre floor

About the Hosts

Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) is focused on playing a visible and important role in the energy sector, while advancing the role and recognition of women in the field. Launched in October 2013, WiRE forges partnerships with a spectrum of Renewable Energy industry associations, other related networking groups for professional women from across the energy sector, and academic providers.

The Association of Power Producers of Ontario (APPrO) is a non-profit organization representing more than 100 companies involved in the generation of electricity in Ontario, including generators and suppliers of services, equipment and consulting services. APPrO members produce power from co-generation, hydro-electric, gas, coal, nuclear, wind energy, waste wood and other sources. APPrO’s members currently produce over 98% of the electricity made in Ontario.
