Developing Strong Foundations for Academic Learning Through Sensory Integration

Jo-Ann Climenhage will discuss how the healthy strength and integration of what Rudolf Steiner describes as the foundational senses, lay the groundwork for all the higher-level cognitive and social skills students need to successfully engage the curriculum beginning in early childhood and continuing through high school.  The questions arise, what are these twelve senses Steiner refers to, how are they interlinked and how do we work to develop them, so they function effectively? In her talk Jo-Ann will shed light on those questions and share insights into nurturing healthy childhood development in children both in the classroom and at home.
