About this event
There’s no doubt that non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are the most popular trend in the blockchain community right now, and we bet you’ve been hearing a lot about them lately!
But what is an NFT? What’s its purpose? How do I get one? How do I make one?
Womxn of Toronto, we’ve got you covered!
We are a group of womxn who gather monthly to learn about all things Web3 (think crypto, NFTs, & DAOs to name a few!)
We will be hosting a monthly community get together where we will be sharing everything we’ve learned about this emerging space! This month our series will be focused on the extraordinary world of non-fungible tokens, and their application with blockchain technology. We will go over their history, why you should be interested in them, IPFS systems and how to identify scams.
We’ll be sharing practical information and how you can get involved.
From our discussion, you can expect to learn about:
• Decentralization in the world of NFTs
• What NFTs are (you’ll leave knowing exactly what an NFT is)
• How and where to purchase or trade them (you’ll leave knowing what platforms to engage on)
• How to create your own NFT (you’ll leave knowing all the various types of NFT and how to create your own)
• How to mint your own NFT (!!!) You’ll be walked through how to mint your own NFT – and what that even means!
• WHY you should care about this emerging space, and how you can join the movement!
During the event, you will be guided through setting up an NFT wallet (if you don’t have one set up just yet!)
