Come hear what is happening on the front lines in Afghanistan since the takeover by the Taliban. Many families were left in dire circumstances, due to a “government” that does not respect human rights and has been actively targeting women and people who have helped or worked with the NATO forces, including Canadian forces. We need the support of people in Manitoba to help them.
Afghanistan Task Force Group - MB is working in partnership with Manitobans for Human Rights and charitable tax receipts will be provided for your contributions. We are working with Hospitality House, a Sponsorship Agreement Holder, to help bring at risk Afghanistan refugees to Manitoba.
Your ticket price covers only the costs associated with the event. Attendees who are able will be invited to make donations to support the refugees wishing to come to Canada.
Every family coming to Canada needs to have financial support. This is accomplished via a trust fund established with the necessary funds to help each family live for a year in Manitoba so they can establish themselves here. We have families who have amazing skills as nurses, doctors, engineers, and so much more.
Please consider being generous to this cause. Donations will be accepted at the event and through Manitobans For Human Rights www.mhri.ca . Select the “donate option” and indicate in the message field “for Afghanistan Refugees”.
We all know that many Manitobans were immigrants once. Immigrants have played a significant role in building and creating the rich diversity that is our province. As we discovered during the pandemic, we need more skilled people in Manitoba, especially in, but not limited to health care.
