Women of Distinction Networking Reception
Event Information
Description
The Black Female Lawyers Network provides an opportunity for students and practitioners in the field to convene, share and learn from one another. Our annual retreat, Sistahs-in-Law, began as an intimate gathering of colleagues and friends has blossomed into a full-day event that has attracted close to two hundred attendees from all over Canada.
This year, we are pleased to welcome other distinguished women of the legal community to celebrate our collective achievements at our inaugural Women of Distinction Networking Reception. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Dalhousie University Law School Judge Corrine Sparks Award established in 2007 in honour of the outstanding contributions to the legal community made by Judge Corrine Sparks. The Award is presented once a year to the student whose personal and academic endeavours most accurately reflect Judge Sparks’ spirit of leadership and community service. The purpose of the Award is to celebrate those students that are committed to using their legal education as a tool for change in their community.
