Speakers:

Kristen Ales - Founder of Wild and Weightless

Kristen is the founder of Wild and Weightless, a instagram community focused around eating disorder recovery, body positivity and mental health. It is her goal to expand the societal idea of who is impacted by disordered eating and who exists in outdoor spaces. Wild and Weightless offers therapeutic adventure trips during the year, an empowering ambassador program and one on one coaching.

Kristen found her own recovery from disordered eating through her time working and recreating in the outdoors. This led her to pursue a career in wilderness therapy. She has her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy. Kristen believes that connection is at the core of building a healing and therapeutic relationship. As a counselor, Kristen brings a sense of curiosity, compassion, and warmth to sessions with each of her clients. She currently lives in Bend, OR where she works with eating disorders in her private practice and in wilderness therapy settings.

Kieren Britton - Founder of The Lady Alliance

Since the ripe old age of 6 weeks Kieren has been camping, road-tripping and exploring. Dreaming of the ridiculous and making it a reality Kieren has cycled 7000 KM across Canada, converted a school bus to live full time on the road, and created The Lady Alliance. There is nothing she enjoys more than testing the limits, expanding her comfort zones and learning more about herself.

Kieren considers herself one of the lucky ones. Growing up in the outdoors has crafted her into who she is today. Kieren has found healing and solace, friends and 'framily', and a love for life through adventure.

After being told too many times that she was "brave for a girl", Kieren had had enough. We have this bravery in all of us, it's not restricted by gender. She was determined to bring this to light.

The Lady Alliance started as an online social community where women had the chance to share their story. Photos, writing, incredible accounts of every day and extraordinary women pushing their limits.

Today, The Lady Alliance has morphed into a beautiful community providing opportunity for women to find empowerment through adventure and, of course, each other.
