Women's Entrepreneurship Day - Vancouver
Calling all entrepreneurs and tech leaders to join us on November 19th, to celebrate the 2nd Annual Women’s Entrepreneurship Day™ (WED) in Vancouver. As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, WED is a day to celebrate the significant contributions that women make to drive Canada’s economy.
We invite all members of the local tech and business community to join us for a casual evening of networking, inspiration, shared experiences, and new connections. Ticket includes appetizers and one beverage.
WED Vancouver is generously supported by SAP Canada, and brought to you by the BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA), in partnership with Futurpreneur, Women in Communications & Technology (WCT BC), Minerva, SCWIST and WEB Alliance.
Don't miss the opportunity to pick up a copy of the Minerva Foundation's Face of Leadership™ Score Card report, measuring women in leadership roles in the top 28 companies in British Columbia!
Speakers:
Catherine Ducharme
With a background in journalism and marketing communications Catherine launched her communications career in the tech sector and stayed there for 18 years and progressed to senior roles. She discovered the entrepreneurial side of herself in 2000 when she started her own communications consulting practice. Then in 2007 she co-founded Outsidein Communications. Today they serve a range of clients in different industries. Among their clients: WorkSafeBC, BC Cancer Agency, Vancouver Board of Trade. Additionally, Catherine is past president of the International Association of Business Communicators. She is a mentor as well as a speaker and she has raised three kids.
Nat Cartwright
Co-Founder of fintech startup Payso. Nat has a background in international development and she managed a portfolio of HIV, TB and malaria grants for The Global Fund while based in Geneva. She has her MBA from IE Business School. Nat is also a Co-Founder of VSpot- an online market that connects people who want to host events with unique venues.
Linda Miller
Trusted advisor, coach and speaker, Linda was inspired to pursue organizational change and transformation after observing that her “grass-roots-IT” passion for improving the lives of people through information technology was often experienced as crushing overwhelm by those it was intended to empower.
Working to humanize how technology change is conducted over the past 18 years, Linda has developed a methodology for continuous transformation that produces the shifts in thought and organizational paradigms needed to succeed in the hyper-agile ‘Millennium Age’. She offers a balanced, and leading edge perspective to her clients. She is also a board member of the Vancouver Association for Change Management Professionals.
