Women's Entrepreneurship Day - Vancouver
Calling all entrepreneurs and tech leaders to join us on November 16th to celebrate the 3rd Annual Women’s Entrepreneurship Day™ (WED) in Vancouver. As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, WED is a day to celebrate the significant contributions that women make to drive Canada’s economy.
We invite all members of the local tech and business community to join us for a casual evening of networking, inspiration, shared experiences, and new connections. Ticket includes appetizers and one beverage.
WED Vancouver is generously supported by TD Insurance, and brought to you by the BC Tech Association, in partnership with Futurpreneur, The Minerva Foundation, Vivonet, Conquer Mobile, Trulioo, Forum for Women Entreprenuers and Women's Enterprise Centre. The event will be hosted at the inspirational offices of THNK School of Creative Leadership in downtown Vancouver.
About the speakers:
Tanis Jorge, Co-Founder and Director at Trulioo
Tanis has successfully built multiple tech companies (including her most current, Trulioo) and in so doing,
has developed a passion for startups and the process for bringing ideas to fruition. As a serial entrepreneur,
Tanis has become an advocate for entrepreneurship, using her experiences and lessons to mentor and advise
those currently in the trenches. Tanis is married with two young boys and is a self-proclaimed foodie and travel enthusiast.
Caroline Dunn, COO & CFO at Vivonet
Caroline has engaged with North American technology companies for 20 years as they seek to grow, disrupt and transform. She has partnered entrepreneurs in the full range of ownership structures (private, public, private equity) and has built and crystalised shareholder value through acquisitions, take private transactions and exits. Caroline has held the executive portfolio for Finance and Operations at DDS Wireless, Courtyard Group (now part of Telus Health) and Sierra Systems (now a Golden Gate portfolio company) and is currently the COO & CFO at Vivonet. Since 2005, Vivonet has been providing cloud-based solutions for the hospitality industry. With a full suite of consumer, operational and enterprise solutions, Vivonet is leading the charge to enable hospitality companies make sense of their data and better engage their customers through end-to-end solutions that include POS, mobile and online ordering.
Angela Robert, Co-Founder and CEO of Conquer Mobile
Angela established her credentials as a software engineer at Scotiabank, IBM and Electronic Arts (EA). At EA she worked on more than 20 games in five years and as Development Director for Skate™ and Skate 2™. At the end of her 5 years at EA she fell in love with Mobile Technology and was eager to jump into entrepreneurship. She founded the company with a vision to transform the way people work by effortlessly embracing mobile and now Virtual Reality (VR) technology. Angela also is an active supporter of girls in STEM, women in technology and business and giving young people early technology focused work experiences.

What is the cancellation policy?
Tickets are non-refundable. We encourage you to pass your ticket along to someone else if you are unable to attend.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. We'd prefer you save a tree! instead, display your e-ticket's QR Code on your smartphone for scanning. Tip: The Eventbrite app is available for Android and iOS. Easily manage your registration right on your phone.
