Join us for our 3rd Annual Women's Health and Wellness Luncheon happening on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Universal Event Space in Vaughan, Ontario.
Our theme for this year – "Be Bold In Changing Your Health" – echoes that of the IWD2017 campaign, #BeBoldForChange". As women we have a natural tendency to place ourselves and our well-being last, and that is why we are urging females everywhere to take a stand for themselves, make good health a priority, acting boldly and unapologetically in their efforts to change the future of their health.
With this in mind, we have designed an event to not only celebrate, but inspire, educate and empower you in various areas of your life. We have hand selected experts with considerable experience coupled with a strong commitment to women's advancement, to deliver wisdom and trustworthy information about everything from personal style, pelvic and mental health to the gut and emotonal brain connection. In addition, our dynamic speakers will draw from their vast knowledge, sharing practical tips and strategies to make positive changes for improved health.

Dr. Jessica Shepherd
Dr. Shepherd is an OB/GYN and women's health expert and also the founder of Her Viewpoint, an online women's health forum that focuses on addressing taboo topics in a comfortable setting. As an OB/GYN, she practices at the University of Illinois at Chicago and also serves as the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Dr. Shepherd has written in various journals including Women's Day, Women's Health, Self, Family Circle, Parents, LifeScript.com, Heart and Soul, Best Health, Essence, and WebMD.
She is also seen regularly as an expert on The Today Show, Dr. Oz, Steve Harvey, CBS News, FOX news (NY, LA Chicago and Dallas), WGN News and "You&Me This Morning" in Chicago where she is a monthly health contributor as well as guest co-host. In addition to radio programs nationwide such as Doctors Radio, Marilu Henner Show and Tom Joyner, Dr. Shepherd also gives lectures nationally and internationally on fibroids and myomectomies and women's health issues. She also writes for several blog posts including Cafe Mom, She Knows, Madame Noire and Lux and Concord.
As a health care expert, she strives to educate women on their bodies and how to address uncomfortable topics and issues. She is a national speaker for Poise, Sweet Spot for Skin Fix, Symbiotics as well as Change The Cycle to address women's health issues. She also collaborates with bloggers to spread the word and discuss health topics with their followers. Her involvement with various foundations as a board member has allowed her to actively make decisions in the women's health realm. She serves on the board of the Multicultural Leadership Committee of the American Heart Association and also the Women's Health Foundation and uses her expertise to help women understand their health conditions and how to address them appropriately.

Dr. Meghan Walker ND
Dr. Meghan Walker is a naturopathic doctor, serial entrepreneur and mother. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and completed a science degree, with a focus in reproductive physiology from the University of Waterloo. As an entrepreneur, Meghan started and sold her first business while in University and went on to found a national Youth Engagement Organization called Millennium Kids. Millennium Kids which taught responsible social activism in schools across Canada, Australia and South Africa.
Meghan is a Co-founder and past CEO of the digital health media start-up, Bright Almond, and she has most recently launched ‘The First 18’, an online incubator for new clinician entrepreneurs. Meghan has served on the Executives of both the Canadian and Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors. Meghan maintains a boutique practice in downtown Toronto, catering to entrepreneurs and inspired individuals looking to maximize their body and brain. When not satisfying her entrepreneurial itch, she is hanging out with her three little girls and super supportive husband.

Christie Ressel is the personal stylist and founder for her company Fashion Translated. Christie works with women of all ages and sizes; helping them look and feel beautiful, inside and out through personalized fashion makeovers. Christie is passionate about ‘translating’ the world of fashion, beauty, and style for her clients so that they too can get excited about their style, body, and beauty.

Kim Moseley is an evangelist of “everything is possible if you believe”. She embraces adversity as an opportunity to grow and thrive and live life with purpose. Among her many accomplishments she is most proud of her amazing kids, Sydney and Spencer. Kim is the founder of MIKQUEST, through which her quest is to change the world in a radical way through Motivation, Inspiration and Knowledge. Kim is also a successful career marketing executive and community advocate.
Faith, family and love have been her anchor to navigate through tragedy in her life. Determined to bring her family through tragedy she transformed her pain to resilience. The profound verse – “To whom much is given, much is expected” – has fueled her involvement in several community organizations where she has given her time and professional skills on Boards and committees to make a difference in the lives of others like herself, faced with adversity, health issues, or those marginalized in our society. She has been especially focused on helping families touched by suicide.
Kim is an advocate of living every moment, fully embracing the joy and lessons life presents to bring us to grace.

Dr. Shyamala Kiru
Dr. Shyamala Kiru, Lover of Mind-Body Wellness, is a registered Psychotherapist and Health & Wellness Expert, and Registered Couple & Family Therapist with almost 15 years’ experience helping people live with purpose and passion. She holds a Masters in Counselling, a Doctorate in Marriage and Family and has served on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
In addition to her private practice, she is a mental health consultant, public speaker and media expert for sources such as Chatelaine, the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail. You can also find her on the expert panel of Discovery Channel’s National TV show - Canada’s Worst Driver. Her background in fitness and nutrition lends a holistic, energized approach to mental health. Elizabeth Correia - Emcee
As the founder of The D.e.v.a In You Group, a self-development and leadership company for women and youth, a motivational speaker, Transformational Life Coach and Founder of Toronto Street Projects, Elizabeth lives her life with purpose. As an entrepreneur, she has built a partnership with the Toronto District School Board, Dufferin Peel Catholic School Board and many community organizations as a speaker and workshop facilitator. Her determination to live allowed her to cope with a stolen childhood and overcome a recent emergency brain tumor-surgery.
No Stranger to survival, Elizabeth empowers individuals to live life with purpose through her memoir If You Played In My Playground; a disturbing, shocking, hopeful and inspiring story detailing her life as an abused child in and out of foster care, a survivor of domestic violence and a teen mother.
Elizabeth is also the founder of ‘Street Projects’ which provides aid, feeds and clothes the poor and ministers to those who have been disadvantaged by family and social circumstances. Her motivation to better the streets of Toronto is deeply rooted from her life as a street kid.
Elizabeth brings her audience a unique perspective on issues many of them face each day. She inspires individuals to live each day re-creating who they were born to be, therefore, enhancing their quality of living and becoming leaders of their own future.
