Event description

Description

Gabrielle Grimard and Mireille Messier, who previously collaborated on Fatima and the Clementine Thieves, team up for a K-6 bilingual event. With each brush stroke, Grimard presents her award-winning Lila and the Crow in a mesmerizing array of colour and wordy goodness. Governor General Literary Awards-nominated author Messier has published over a dozen children’s books, including The Branch, which tells the story of a little girl’s favourite branch after it snaps from a tree during an ice storm.

Gabrielle Grimard

Gabrielle Grimard was born in Montreal. Much to the dismay of her teachers in the early grades, Gabrielle was constantly drawing in class. Today, though, her artwork appears in over 25 children’s books. Lila and the Crow is the first book she has authored.

Mireille Messier

Mireille Messier is a Franco-Ontarian author. She has published over a dozen children’s books, several articles for youth magazines and has collaborated in the production of many family programs. She lives in Toronto with her husband, two wonderful teenage daughters and two extremely fluffy cats.
