Event description

Description

YA authors Wesley King and Heather Smith join forces to present their books about extraordinary childhoods and adventures. King’s sci-fi novel, Enemy of the Realm, is book two in his series that takes young readers on a quest to defeat enemy drones using dragon magic. In a tale of growing up with tragic revelations, Smith’s voice in The Agony of Bun O’Keefe leads readers as she navigates an ill-equipped girl through life.

Wesley King

Wesley King’s many books include the Silver Birch and Ruth & Sylvia Schwartz Award-winning OCDaniel. He has recently come to terms with the fact that his first career choice of Jedi may be impractical and is now embarking on his second choice: author. He lives in Nova Scotia with his family.

Heather Smith

Heather Smith spent much of her early life wrestling with words. Not only was she a reluctant reader, she struggled with speech as well. Today, Smith wrestles with words in a different way – she’s a writer. Her first novel, Baygirl, was described by Quill & Quire as “a balanced, well-written debut” and was a 2015 White Pine Honour Book. She lives in Ontario with her family.
