Calling all lovers of Mother Earth in the Ottawa/Gatineau region,

You are invited to join trained Work that Reconnects Facilitators Pat Kerr and John Eastcott at Wild Blue Mindfulness studio, 44 Hawthorne Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on January 11-12, 2019.

Together we will take a deep dive into a workshop based in the teachings of author, eco-philosopher, scholar of Buddhism, and environmental activist, Dr. Joanna Macy. Dr. Joanna Macy is the creator and root teacher of The Work That Reconnects.

Contact Patricia Kerr at patricia_kerr@yahoo.com if you require a scholarship to attend.

What is Work That Reconnects?

CBC has described research that addresses the very real experience of ecological grief as the mental health cost of climate change. Ecological grief is not the only risk factor; climate change is potentially the greatest challenge faced by human history.

How we choose to respond to our changing world at this time is vital.

Founder Dr. Joanna Macy has described The Work That Reconnects this way:

"The central purpose of the Work that Reconnects is to help people uncover and experience their innate connections with each other and with the systemic, self-healing powers of the web of life, so that they may be enlivened and motivated to play their part in creating a sustainable civilization."

What does a Work That Reconnects Workshop involve?

Work That Reconnects is a transformational group process for living in difficult times. In the confidentiality and safety of a small group guided by experienced facilitators, we will explore our connection to the living world through the following modalities:

  • Dialogue,
  • Movement,
  • Ritual,
  • Play, and
  • Nature connection

Years of offering WTR around the world has shown that the WTR relational practices offer a way forward for individuals and for a community to arrive at resilience, empowerment, connection and active hope.

The WTR Spiral:

The experiential work of a Work That Reconnects workshop follows a spiral sequence flowing through four stages:

  • Gratitude
  • Honoring our pain for the world
  • Seeing with fresh eyes, and
  • Going forth.

The central aim of the Work That Reconnects is to bring us back into relationship with each other and with the self-healing powers in the web of life, motivating and empowering us to reclaim our lives, our communities, and our planet from corporate and colonial rule.

Your Work That Reconnects Co-Facilitators:
