Event description
Author Debi Goodwin will touch on the process of turning her grief and love of gardening into her memoir, A Victory Garden For Trying Times.

About this Event

Since there’s no need to be a writer or a gardener to find a way to express grief through a personal creation, Debi will discuss a variety of arts and crafts that we can use to explore all the feelings that need expression while we act as caretakers for loved ones or grieve their loss. Whether through journaling, poetry, letter writing, painting, sculpture, building a memory garden, quilting, knitting or scrapbooking, creating a personal piece that reflects a loved one or the strong emotions we feel can help us through the grieving process.

Bio

Debi Goodwin is a former CBC journalist and the author of two books. Her latest book A Victory Garden For Trying Times follows a year of creating a vegetable garden that sustained her while she supported her husband through cancer treatment and soothed her after his death.
