Beyond Student Feedback

In this workshop we will explore strategies for gaining insight into teaching practices and students’ learning experiences that go beyond written feedback and USRIs. We will explore the use of student focus groups (or group interviews), student class representatives and peer classroom observations – strategies that can help enhance teaching and learning and have a huge impact for a small investment of time. Participants will learn about these three strategies and have time to develop a plan to implement one of these strategies over the next academic year.


The workshop will be facilitated by Doug Storey (Professor/Head of Biological Sciences Department), Nancy Chibry (Assistant Dean - Student Affairs) and Leslie Reid (Associate Dean - Teaching and Learning).
