With some Canadian provinces reporting high or increasing rates of Cesarean Births, it is important to understand the impact, explore the criteria and examine the relevance of reducing these. This full day workshop will explore a recent research project and how those findings can translate to optimizing the management of the mode of delivery through a systematic process of audit and feedback. Tools and techniques of the process will be shared.
Through a combination of lecture and small group activities, by the end of this session, participants will be able to learn:
- Explore reasons for high Cesarean birth rates
- Understand that a safe reduction of current Cesarean birth rates is possible
- Gain understanding of recent research findings
- Explore how research can be translated into practice
