This workshop will explore foundational guidelines and principles for engaging people with lived/living experience in program delivery and in committee work.
Topics will include:
- Assessing organizational readiness
- Identifying biases or assumptions
- Creating a culture of inclusion
- Removing financial barriers
- Creating opportunities for engagement
- Planning for peer support roles
- What the evidence says about the benefits of peer work
Presenters include CMHA Waterloo Wellington Centre for Excellence in Peer Support, Bruce Grey Poverty Task Force/Community Voices and Sheatre Community Arts for Social Change.
This is a free event. Lunch will be catered by CMHA Grey Bruce's Fresh Roots Cafe.
