Description

About the Workshop:

The provincial government of Ontario has released for consultation a proposed standardized methodology for assessing land use needs within all upper-tier and single-tier municipal boundaries in the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH). The methodology is designed with one objective: to implement the Growth Plan.

This workshop led by CUR researchers will cover four topics:

  • Ways to build a comprehensive land use methodology
  • Assessing how the provisions in the Province’s proposed methodology relate to best practices
  • Discussing economic and market impacts resulting from the more limited scope of the Province’s methodology
  • Discussing ways to make the Province’s proposed methodology more cognizance of economic and market realities, minimize undesirable negative impacts and still achieve Growth Plan objectives

Registration & Continental Breakfast: 8:00 a.m.
Program: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
