About this event
Director Dr. Michelle LaFlamme would like to extend a warm welcome to all UFV students, faculty and staff to attend the workshop performance of GHOSTING OF SUMAS LAKE which is based on the students' own experiences of the Sumas Prairie floods of 2021. We have a few scheduled workshop performances on Nov. 24 @ 7pm, Nov. 25 @ 7pm, and Nov. 26 @ 2pm with talk backs in our first week that will generate questions and more conversations.
Faculty may book their whole class for one of these shows or they may simply suggest that students attend the performance on their own schedules. They may consider creating a reflective writing assignment, panel discussion, group presentation or otherwise incorporate the show into learning objectives for their course. The performance addresses personal impacts of local and global floods, intercultural issues, the global climate crises, and topics such as intergenerational trauma and resilience in an immersive and surreal way.
Performances: Please be advised that early reservations via Eventbrite are encouraged as seating will be extremely limited. All bookings can be made through Eventbrite and ticket registration ends 2 hours before the performance start times. Performances will be held in the Performance Studio, Building D, 105, Abbotsford Campus, University of the Fraser Valley, 33844 King Road.
