Participants create a shared understanding of the words tossed around when speaking about diversity. Through group discussions and experiential learning, participants will examine individual and systemic barriers, expectations and norms.
Participants apply other lenses to broaden their perspectives about accessibility, inclusion, power and privilege.
Participants examine principles of peer support within an anti-oppression framework and look at systemic power imbalances. Participants develop a basic understanding of how these dynamics play out within peer-led groups.
The GVFB workshops supports community organizers and facilitators in their roles. If you work in a community kitchen, food bank, meal program or are coordinating workshops in your community, this workshop is perfect for you.
