Description

Please join us at Floral Hall for a food truck lunch as we feature interactive community mural painting, a scavenger hunt (with draw prizes), an opportunity to write a letter to your MP and a special offer for reduced price entry into the botanical gardens!

Please register for this free event to help us make sure we have enough activities for everyone.

Please note: half-price tickets to the Botanical Gardens are only available on this day and only through your eventbrite registration here. Tickets must be purchased by 8am on Sunday June 4th, so make sure to get them before then!

You will need a camera/phone for the scavenger hunt. Stay tuned on our Facebook event and Twitter the day before to get a head start!

This event is rain or shine and we are prepared for both! To keep waste to a minimum, please bring your own reusable water bottle.

WHEN: Sunday June 4th, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Floral Hall – VanDusen Gardens, 5251 Oak St, Vancouver, BC

WHO:Blue Dot is a growing movement of Canadians of all ages from coast to coast to coast who believe in the simple but powerful idea that no matter who you are or where you live, everyone should enjoy the right to a healthy environment.

Since 2014, an astounding 150 municipalities including Vancouver have taken meaningful action by recognizing their residents’ basic human right to a healthy environment.

This World Environment Day, on June 5, we're taking our local movement national. More than 15.7 million Canadians now live in municipalities that have declared the right to a healthy environment. It’s time these values were extended to all Canadians.

A federal environmental bill of rights will legally establish the right to a healthy environment for everyone in Canada including access to safe and clean drinking water.

Federal environmental rights will also help us build and maintain momentum as we work toward our ultimate goal: Recognizing the right to a healthy environment in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Canada's highest law.
