World Reach Out Together Day: Global Virtual Summit
Event Information
About this Event
World Reach Out Together Day is aimed at raising mental health awareness globally by building connections and continuing conversations that break the stigma around reaching out for professional help or other support.
This year, Reach Out Together is launching a first-of-its-kind 12-hour ONLINE series involving mental health industry leaders, speakers, recovery advocates, and leading performers. It will include participants from Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North America and South America who strive to promote social and mental well-being.
Started in memoriam to founder Aanchal Vashistha’s late twin brother Tushar, who passed away to suicide in 2016, the day has been a way to simultaneously honor his memory and spread awareness of mental health coping strategies. When we learn to recognize the warning signs of someone struggling, we can reach out, intervene, and work it out together.
Reaching out is not just action---it’s interaction. Throughout the day we have 6 interactive mindful working sessions will encourage participants to build on what leaders & experts have to say.
Given the pandemic, now more than ever, we need community leaders to step up and help normalize mental health discussions and normalize reaching out for professional help and other support. It is about time we break the stigma and help our families, friends, coworkers reach out for their happiness and well-being.
