Event Details

Vancouver Chapter Event -- From negotiating a new position to the dreaded salary conversation, to negotiating resources and timelines for a software implementation or services deal for a client. You may not be charged with high risk negotiation deals (or maybe you are), but negotiation happens all the time in our workplace, and in our everyday lives.

Join Lisa Ohman and other dynamic women in technology as she shares her insights on negotiation tactics and strategies that extend to everyday life. As we sip on drinking chocolate and indulge in hand-rolled truffles from East Van Roasters, you will discover tried and true tactics and gain valuable information to ease the discomfort the next time you need to exercise your negotiation skills. This evening’s goal is to facilitate connection with other women in technology, share experiences and gain powerful ideas to add to your toolkit.

Lisa Ohman is the Chief Operating Officer of InvestNextDoor, the first community-focused online peer to business investment marketplace that gives control back to investors and borrowers. Prior to InvestNextDoor, Lisa ran the Strategic Initiatives department at Active Network facilitating seven acquisitions impacting more than 500 employees,  10 offices and 12 product lines.  During her professional career Lisa has led large Professional Services teams responsible for rolling out software for over 1000 cities and municipalities, managed multi-million dollar information system rollouts, and help set up a Global Project Management Office.  In her “spare” time she is an adventurer enjoying everything from ice trekking in Antarctica to riding with herds in the Okavango Delta of Botswana.
