Writer Inc. - Understanding the Business of Writing
You are a writer and perhaps an editor, an author, and writing instructor as well. You have a diverse income stream, but are you taking care of your writing business? This half-day workshop will provide you with practical tools to help you lay a strong financial foundation for your writing business. Through hands-on activities and guided learning, you will learn what expenses are tax deductible, how to optimize your business deductions, how to determine when to incorporate and when to register for GST, and what software is best to track income and expenses. Take your writing business from the confines of the custodial closet to the executive boardroom, and become the CEO of your Writer Inc. Fortune 500 business!
Presenter Bio
Kim Deep, CMA, is a business coach, a financial educator, and the author of the children's book, Conductor Kash and the Prosperity Express. Kim has been a featured columnist for numerous national publications and on radio and TV. Kim is currently in the process of publishing her 2nd children's book, The Prosperity Princess. Kim is the founder and president of The Family Wealth Academy and Kidz Make Cents and Business By Numbers Ltd. She is known as the "CFO on the Go" and the Financial Waist Manager who empowers people with account-abilities.

1. There is a pay parking lot on site. Free street parking is available in the area.

Cancellation Policy
The registration fee, less 20% for administration costs, will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received on or before January 21st, 2012 (two weeks prior to the workshop). No refunds will be given if notice of cancellation is received after January 21st, 2012, and no refunds will be given for "no shows".
