Everything you need to know about creating a healthy, happy life for yourself is already inside you. A powerful way to access this wisdom is through writing, using clear and simple prompts. With thought-provoking discussion and guidance by Life Coach Jobina Bardai, and introspective, focused writing time with Expressive Writing Instructor Taslim Jaffer, this 4-week series is the perfect launching pad into your Self.
Suitable for anyone who wants to explore expressive writing – a non-judgemental practice of writing for the self. Whether you are a novice or experienced in this art, you will find this series of live, interactive workshops engaging and fruitful.
Note that the dates are: April 2, 9, 23 & 30th (all Saturdays, times are 9:30 am to 11 am PST).
Zoom link to access each session will be sent via email to participants 24 hours before the sessions. Each session will be recorded and a link provided to all registrants within 72 hours. Participants can choose to be on or off camera for the sessions and can utilize the chat function to share with the group.

Week One: Self-Love
Self-love is where it all begins. Knowing what you need to feel loved by you is the key foundation of any growth in your life. Connect to your needs and celebrate your differences with guided writing prompts and inspiring discussion.
Week Two: Self-Worth:
What are you worth and who gets to decide that? Learn the importance of valuing yourself, getting away from the self-critic and owning your own story. Take a deeper dive into your Self with thoughtful discussion and prompts.
Week Three: Body Image
One of the most important relationships you will ever have is the one you enter into with your body. What are you saying to and about your body? How can you find acceptance for the body you live in? Explore this relationship in a safe and kind space.
Week Four: Self-Acceptance
When you reach a level of self-acceptance, you have the freedom to be wholly YOU. What would self-acceptance look like in your life and how would it feel to fully show up in the world with all your fabulousness and flaws? Complete the 4-week series with a greater understanding of you in your entirety.
FACILITATORS:
Taslim Jaffer is a freelance writer and writing instructor currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction. Her work has appeared in CBC News, Maclean's, Huffington Post Canada, WestCoast Families, Peace Arch News, Unearth Women and more. She has taught memoir and expressive writing classes in rehabilitative and community settings since 2015. Taslim is inspired by family stories, culture & society and the age-old question, "Who am I?" She lives in beautiful British Columbia with her husband and 3 children.
Jobina Bardai is a transformational life coach who helps people struggling through a life change or transition, to discover a clear path to their ideal future to firstly building a strong relationships with themselves and others. She works with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain, and overlooked to navigate these changes with ease and confidence.
She considers herself a master at navigating life’s transitions, after being thrown more than her fair share of them in her life. Today she uses her skills as a life coach and her personal journey of overcoming unexpected change to help people get fresh outlooks, make bold changes, and start new beginnings.
