The Northern Alberta Emerging Green Builders host a series of mentorship sessions for young Edmonton professionals and students. This new monthly program is the Green Building Superhero series and is an opportunity to find out how these green professionals started in the industry and where they see the industry in going. Attendees will be able to tap into the expertise of these professionals with an informal Q&A
Sascha Jansz, M.Sc, LEED GA
Sascha Jansz joined the University of Alberta’s Office of Sustainability in August 2015 as Project Planner: Certification & Metrics. She works on the sustainability certification of existing buildings on campus, as well as sustainability metrics collection and management. She leads the universities Green Building Strategy, including the Sustainability Information Management System (SIMS) and realizing green building signage.
Prior to her current position Sascha worked as a project manager and sustainable building consultant for Brink Groep, a company specialized in Design & Construction management and consultancy located in the Netherlands. She has helped design, realize and manage green buildings though various rating systems such as LEED, BREEAM, BOMA BESt and others.
Sascha is an alumnus of the Technical University of Delft at the faculty of Architecture. She holds a B.Sc. in Architecture and a M.Sc. in Real Estate & Housing: a combination of Real Estate management, Design & Construction management and Housing. She received an honorable mention for her M.Sc. graduation project, where she specialized in the sustainability of existing buildings, compared to more energy efficient newer buildings.
