YFC London's Virtual Café
Event Information
About this Event
Join us on Monday, November 2nd, at 7pm for a virtual café connection of inspiration and empowerment.
We will be providing an exciting update on how YFC London's team has remained and increased the outreach and support to youth in our city during this pandemic. Staff and youth will be sharing the value and impact of mentoring relationships during this time.
We are also thrilled to have Nicole Kaniki sharing at our virtual cafe about how we, as a London community, can ensure that every youth in our city is able to grow and thrive through this pandemic.
Nicole has been a volunteer and partner with YFCLondon for over 5 years in supporting the Compass Basketball training programs. Additionally, she has been a supporter of athletics in the community as a coach for the London Ramblers. She and her husband (Serge, who also coaches) have two sons (pre-teen and teen) who are equally active in sports and in their community. Nicole and her family are also active members of Praxis church in London.
Nicole currently works as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Specialist for Western BrainsCAN and serves as the Special Advisor to the President of Western University on Anti-Racism. She holds a PhD in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods in addition to a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science as well as a Master’s Degree in Women’s Studies and Feminist Research.
As for the Café, when you register through E-Brite, you will have the opportunity to choose your coffee (pour-over) and tea selection. They will be packaged together with several snacks for you to pick up from YFC the week prior to the event so that you can join us with a beverage as we connect over our virtual coffee table.
When you register, a Zoom link will be sent to you so that you can be directly engaged in the evening. As well, the Virtual Café will be live-streamed over YFC London's YouTube and Facebook pages for everyone to enjoy.
