Event description

Description

Yiyun Li is a professor of creative writing at Princeton University. She is the author of four works of fiction, and the memoir Dear Friend, from My Life I Write to You in Your Life. Many of her books grapple with themes of grief and sorrow, and her writing is esteemed for its tender and honest depiction of life’s struggles.

Li appears to discuss her most recent novel, Where Reasons End, which was composed in the months after she lost a child to suicide, and is a meditation on that loss. Arranged through conversations between a mother and her son, the novel is a moving portrayal of the love and complexity of a relationship.

Hear Yiyun Li discuss Where Reasons End with Eleanor Wachtel.
