Yoga & Wine Pairing
Mon, 27 March 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM MDT
Join us on Monday, March 27th for our second attempt at our first ever yoga & wine pairing, hosted by Chartier's very own Kaitlynn Hoffman.
Kaitlynn will be guiding us through a 1.5 hour Hatha Flow Fusion class that is paired WITH WINE. That's right, you will be drinking wine WHILE YOU STRETCH. Kaitlynn has designed the session to reflect the wines we will be tasting, and will guide you through the flavour profiles of the wine as she pairs them with gentle movements that reflect the wine's character. You'll be tasting & stretching to:
- A bubbly prosecco
- A vibrant white
- A smooth red
- A sleepy port (complimented with a lemon grass scented savasana towel)
This is a great class for beginner yogis and beginner wine drinkers. This is not for the serious yogi, looking for a quiet room and an intense stretch - we will be laughing and chatting chatting, as we learn about wine and postures.
Please bring your own mat, and a water bottle. Some props will be available, but feel free to bring your own as well :)
Hope to see you there!
My name is Kaitlynn and I love connecting to others through sharing yoga. I strongly believe that when made accessible, yoga can be for everyone and anyone. My first encounter with a yoga class was 4 years ago at Bikram Hot Yoga studio and despite wanting to lay down in a pool of my own sweat and accept defeat the entire 90 minutes, something had me hooked. I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety on and off since I was a teenager and a regular yoga practice has provided some light in those dark, heavy times. I’m passionate about sharing the tools and techniques through breath, movement and meditation I’ve learned that have helped me improve quality of life despite having a mental health disorder. Although I’ve discovered yoga can’t erase having a mental health disorder, a regular practice can bring just a moment of presence to be free from that inner critic.
I have 500hr of technical yoga training with roots in a Moksha background and only plan to continue to keep growing and learning until the day I leave this earth. I approach teaching with a strong anatomical style but also love being curious and creative in designing sequences. I will always be a student first and am forever grateful of the fullness yoga has brought and taught me to embrace throughout this crazy thing we call life.
