You Are Here @ The Shipyards Exhibit Opening

Since opening in December 2021, MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver has been engaging the community by exploring the past, present and future of North Vancouver and its people. And soon, it will connect with the community in new ways with the opening of its Feature Exhibit Gallery.

Opening to the public on December 8, 2022, MONOVA’s newest feature exhibition You Are Here @ The Shipyards invites visitors to imagine the area around the Museum in its earliest days as North Vancouver – on the site of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) village of Eslhá7an – and follow its evolution as a vibrant waterfront community.

Special Exhibit Opening on December 7

Presented by Neptune Terminals with the support of the Port of Vancouver, You Are Here @ the Shipyards retraces the steps of the workers, dreamers, and innovators who brought the area back to life.

On Wednesday, December 7, join us for a special exhibit opening event for MONOVA Annual Pass holders and invited guests:

• MONOVA Annual Pass holders and Friends Leadership Circle (FLC) member preview starting at 5:00 pm onward.
• Reception for invited guests from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Space is limited. RSVP in advance to avoid disappointment.

A free community day will follow on December 11, 2022 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm where the entire North Vancouver community will be welcome to stop by to celebrate the exhibit opening.

MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver, operated by the North Vancouver Museum and Archives, is a shared partner agency of the City and District of North Vancouver.

MONOVA operates both the Museum of North Vancouver (115 West Esplanade) now open in The Shipyards and the Archives of North Vancouver (3203 Institute Road) in Lynn Valley.

In addition to the two physical visitor centres, MONOVA supports several other online/offsite experiences for the public to engage with and learn about the past, present and future stories of North Vancouver.
