Event description

Description

Join us to learn more about the legal system and why we need more Indigenous lawyers. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the specifics of law school, the application process, the courses offered, and the unique place that Indigenous Peoples have in relation to Canadian law.

There is enormous emotional and financial support for all students wishing to pursue a legal education. This event will elucidate the different networks and assistance schemes that are in place for your benefit.

Doors to the Council Chambers open at 4PM and you can drop by to pick up information pamphlets and ask questions.

At 5PM, we will have an incredible panel consisting of various Indigenous lawyers and legal workers who will speak on their experiences and their perspective on Canadian law. There will also be time for people in attendance to ask our panel questions that they may have.

Food and refreshments will be provided.

At the end of the workshop, we will announce the lucky winners of our awesome prizes. Please forward any inquiries to George Lin at lin13a@uwindsor.ca or by phone at 519-628-5700 extension 322.
