A variety of local organizations will also provide the opportunity for you to take part in skill-building breakout sesison on a wide range of topics.

Keynote speakers:

Michele Romanow

Tech titan Michele Romanow is an engineer and a serial entrepreneur who started three companies before her 28th birthday. The newest (and youngest ever) entrepreneur to join CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den, Michele is the co-founder of e-commerce platforms Buytopia.ca and Snap By Groupon, which have saved millions of users hundreds of millions of dollars. She is also the co-founder of clearbanc.com, an online financial service for freelancers, independent contractors, and entrepreneurs. Ranked in WXN’s “100 Most Powerful in Canada” and listed as the only Canadian on Forbes’ “Millennial on a Mission” list, Michele brings her youthful energy and incredible entrepreneurial savvy to every stage.

Ann Makosinski

Ann Makosinski is a 19-year-old student, serial inventor and media darling doing numerous global appearances and keynote talks. Her first toy was a box of transistors, which launched her journey into the world of inventing. Ann participated in local science fairs starting in grade 6, and in grade 10 her inspiration grew when her friend in the Philippines failed her grade because she had no electricity or light to study with at night. The Hollow Flashlight was created… a flashlight that runs off the heat of the human hand! Ann won numerous awards at the Intel Science and Engineering Fair, and ultimately won her age category at the 2013 Google Science Fair. She is currently in talks to manufacture and globally distribute her flashlight. Ann is one of the most sought after inventors and global influencers of her generation.

Kendal Netmaker

Kendal is one of Canada’s top Indigenous entrepreneurs and motivational speakers who grew up on Sweetgrass First Nation, SK. He was raised single-parented, living on welfare and no opportunity to be involved in after school sports. In grade 5, his best friend from South Africa gave Kendal a helping hand by giving him the opportunity to take part in soccer. He never forgot about what his friend had done for him when he later founded the popular clothing brand, Neechie Gear. A lifestyle apparel brand that empowers youth through sports. A portion of profits help fund underprivileged youth to take part in sports. After finishing two degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Kendal grew the brand from a small 1 bedroom apartment to a small kiosk to several pop-up stores and recently opened a new headquarters in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The brand is now sold to consumers across North America through other exclusive retail partners and online.
