About this Event

Join fashion designers Kristi Woo (Riyoko, Designer), and Claudia Franco-Slater to learn how to stitch and embroider badges. Create handmade with love stocking stuffers, or some fun patches for your scarves, hats and coats!

You will need to have a pen or pencil and scissors, and an iron if you'd like to iron-on your patch (optional). A free kit with the rest of the materials you’ll need for the workshop will be available for pick-up at Esker Foundation (1011 9th Ave. SE, details will be provided after registration), or can be mailed if registration is complete by 30 November. Please check 'yes' to mail when registering and provide your full mailing/shipping address. For questions, email Eva at

Recommended for participants 13-17 years old.

This workshop will happen on Zoom. Registration essential, opens 10 November at 11AM

Zoom Tips:

Screen Name

For your privacy, it is recommended that you use only your first name or a screen name or nickname on Zoom. You are also encouraged to include your preferred pronouns. For example:

Eva (she/her), JoJo (they/them), Tim (he/him)

If you have never used/downloaded Zoom before on your computer or device, you will be prompted to do so once you click on the meeting link. You’ll then be asked to enter your name. This is the name that will appear on-screen to others during the meeting/webinar.

If you already have Zoom on your computer/device, you can change your name by logging in to your account. Access your Profile, and change your name (at the top).

Respect and Inclusion

By registering for this Program you agree to co-create, in collaboration with Esker Staff, Artists and Volunteers, an atmosphere of mutual inclusion and respect for all persons. This includes speaking, acting and behaving in a way that is absent of violence, harassment, racism, intimidation, bullying or discrimination of any kind regardless of, and not limited to gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, culture, age and ability. This includes in online/digital forums. Should you require any support, or have any questions, please reach out to Eva Verity at:
