Calling all young people in Waterloo Region—we need your help!
What we need help with:
The Children and Youth Planning Table of Waterloo Region (CYPT) is working with UNICEF Canada and others on a project that will help us better understand what life is like for you (young people in our community!), and from there, we’ll know how we can improve it together. This project (it’s called the Community Child and Youth Well-Being Survey) will start in Waterloo Region, and then be expanded out to all of Canada. You can learn more about it here.
Why we can’t do it without you:
With your ideas and input, we’ll be able to ask the right questions to understand you and your life in Waterloo Region (which means we’ll then be able to work hard together to improve life for you and all the young people that’ll come after you). With your help, we’ll know the best way to reach all young people in our community. And most of all, we really want you to hear the results of the ideas and input you give us, so we also want to know how we can make sure that happens.
What the event will be like:
You’ll work in teams of 5 (or so) for different hands-on activities and games that will help us keep track of all your amazing ideas, thoughts, and feedback.
Other things to look forward to:
- Free food (snacks and lunch!)
- Free merch
- Prizes!
youTHINK is open to all young people 12 to 18ish.
How to sign up:
You have the option of signing up just yourself, signing up with a friend, or signing up with a group of friends!
We’re gonna have everyone working in teams of 5 (or so) which means if you sign up together with 4 other friends, you’ll be all set for the day. If you’re signing up just yourself or with a couple of friends, no worries! We’ll put you in a team with others. (A chance to make new friends!)
Just as a heads up, if you're signing up with others, you'll need to sign-up all in one go, so make sure you have your friend(s)' info.

(We’ll also spend time at the Kitchener Public Library, which is right next door to 150 Frederick)
