Description

Youth Program Quality Initiative (YPQI) Youth Work Method Series

Best practice professional development training for youth program staff:

Do you communicate with youth in a way that makes them feel supported, heard and encouraged? This interactive workshop introduces various communication techniques that help you build more supportive, youth-centered relationships. Ask-Listen-Encourage is a method for carrying out positive, purposeful interactions with young people. The method includes practices that can both foster positive relationships with youth and support young people in learning new skills. Participants will learn how to ask more effective questions, to listen actively to youth, and offer youth encouragement rather than praise.
