YSIM 2019 is an explosive cocktail of unique MUN experiences, giving a chance to everyone to expand their leadership and debating skills.

About this Event

YSIM 2019 is the International Relations Students’ Association at York’s internal conference for the academic year 2019-2020. The aims of this experiential conference are listed below:

- To develop the skills of new and rising IRSAY delegates in debating, diplomacy, and networking within the organization

- To provide a platform for IRSAY delegates to interact and build a sense of community within the organization

- To identify strong and dedicated delegates to comprise IRSAY’s Competitive Team

YSIM 2019 will take place in Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Building (TEL). The opening ceremony of the internal conference will start at 9am EST in building room 0009, so please be there 15 minutes before.

There will also be a social right after committee in the Absinthe Pub in Winters College on October 26 from 6pm onwards. Delegates are welcome to wine and dine for a relaxed evening at one of York’s famous on-campus student pubs. Save the date!

Specialized agency: Sudan Joint Council

The aim of this committee is to achieve political stability in Sudan following the Khartoum massacre on the 3rd of June, 2019 and widespread civil disobedience. The crisis will consist of members of a joint-task force for a successful government transition, comprised of representatives from the Transitional Military Council (TMC), Forces for the Declaration of Freedom and Change, the African Union, among other organizations with various interests. This forum must come up with a joint proposal on the country’s transition, while remaining cognizant of the following issues:

Accountability measures for the massacre during the mass protests on June 3

Economic problems

Internet blackout
