About this event
Get into the holiday mood with a uniquely coastal Yuletide experience!
Prepare for an evening of festive delight, crafting handmade Gravlax and sampling a bevvy of seafood, mulled wine, and spirits off a traditional holiday Julbord.
With a local west coast twist, of course!
You'll get a hands-on lesson on preparing your own Gravlax, a cold cured fish with a similar taste and texture to smoked salmon, following a simple, traditional recipe.
Then, sit back and be treated to a curated Julbord sampling. Best described as a Swedish holiday seacuterie platter, you'll savor a curated selection of cured and smoked seafood, artisanal krispbrod, and spreads paired with seasonal ales, mead, and spirits.
All while sipping on a steaming mug of peppery Glögg (aka Mulled Wine).
Skål!
What You'll Get:
-Learn how to craft traditional cured Gravlax from local, sustainably caught wild pink salmon
-Take home your own handmade Gravlax to finish curing and enjoy with family and friends (or keep to yourself! We're not here to judge, and it's so delicious we wouldn't blame you!)
-Enjoy a guided experience through a holiday Julbord sampling and sipping with a variety of cured, smoked and preserved seafoods and traditional artisanal beverages.
HEADS UP!
Since there will be alcoholic beverages served, this event is 19+ only.
If you're salt sensitive, proceed with caution! One of the key elements in most preserved seafood is salt or acid. If you have an aversion to these tastes this, sadly, may not be the event for you. Luckily, there are two other festive events for you to join in on! Check out https://www.trishtalksfish.com/upcoming-workshops to sign up.
