Description

“The Healing through Humour Workshop” is ideal for those experiencing high stress in their personal or professional lives.

It supports individuals, couples or teams in transition/conflict who are especially susceptible to burnout. It is a great fit for vulnerable populations (substance users, developmental/physical disabilities, homeless, involvement in the Justice system) & those who support them.

Six spaces are left for this workshop.
$1050/person with Digital Storytelling & $840person without Digital Storytelling digital media.
& Non-Profit Discounted Rate of $840/ person with Digital Storytelling & $630/person without Digital Storytelling. Digital Media.

Price includes course tuition and materials, pre/post work, delicious breakfast and lunch and snacks both days, opportunity to perform stand up routine at an open mic

Participant Capacity is built through:
• Strength based Leadership Development & Communication skills training.
• Awareness of personality & communication styles.
• Self reflection expressed through various forms of Art.
• Creating an ability to heal through self care techniques
• Participants are eventually able to ‘own their story’ through a stand-up comedy routine that only they could tell.
• This powerful process can be captured through digital storytelling for the individual(s) or organization.

Graduates will be offered the chance to preform live and a select few may even be given a spot at the "Shatter The Stigma" YYC Comedy Event on August 31, 2018 - with Proceeds going to AAWEAR's Provincial Peer Outreach Teams.

Participants are required to:
Do approximately 2 hours of pre-work & 2 hours of post-work
Attend & Interactively Participate in the entire two day workshop
Are expected to provide feedback
Be in a state they are able to actively engage and participate meaningfully.

Participants do not have to perform onstage but are encouraged to do so.

This workshop is not intended for individuals who are in severe emotional crisis and makes no claims to provide any medical or psychological results. The intent is to promote self care and overall wellness.

This is a 2 day workshop.
