Coronavirus FAQs

How can I cancel or postpone my event?

If you have to cancel or postpone an event, it's important to communicate with your attendees and issue refunds. Once you've completed these first steps, select the "Cancel" link on the Event Dashboard to cancel your event in the system.

Please visit our Help Center articles for step by step instructions on canceling or postponing your event.

Are there refunded service fees for canceled events?

Please see our refund policies in the case of a cancellation or postponement outlined in this Help Center article.

How can I change my event from in-person to virtual?

An alternative to canceling your event is to livestream it rather than gathering in-person. To do this, you need to change the location of your event from a physical address to online. Here's how to do this:

    1. Click on your event under "Manage events" in your account.
    2. Go to "Basic info" on your Event Dashboard.
    3. Select the pencil icon next to your event location.
    4. Click on the dropdown "Venue" and select "Online event". Follow the steps to create a livestream event page.

There are a couple of extra steps to take when you change your in-person event to a virtual event.

    • Make sure to communicate the changes to your attendees.
    • When you change your location from in-person to online, Eventbrite won't automatically send the link of the livestream to your attendees. You can include the link in your email to attendees or send it out at a later time.
