Amy Murphy

Amy has a mixed-discipline background that started as young as 2 years old with Figure Skating. At age 4 Rhythmic Gymnastics was introduced and quickly it became a competitive sport, involvement until age 12.  Running for fitness and yoga both started at age 13, Amy was on 2 rugby teams in High School and completed her first half-marathon before graduating High School. Adulthood brought more running, a full-marathon, and self-supported bike tours across British Columbia, the Big Island of Hawaii, Fredericton to Halifax, New Brunswick x 2, and Iceland.  Amy has sampled various yoga styles, Crossfit, and LOTS of Pilates, and stays open and interested in what those around her can offer.

Amy is a Registered Massage Therapist who practiced from age 19-29.  She has been a Yoga Instructor for the last 7 years, certified by 'Therapeutic Approach' in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has additional yoga training in Ashtanga and Budokon, and recently a Mindful Strength Training with Kathryn Bruni-Young. Currently Amy is teaching herself to mountain bike and emerged in leading her 4th 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training.

Amy Murphy IS a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School, and holds a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) designation.
