Annapolis Valley Chapter of Autism Nova Scotia

We are a community-based organization that fosters understanding, acceptance, and collaborative approaches for those living with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) throughout Nova Scotia.  Our Chapter provides programs and supports, from Windsor to Annapolis Royal, for children, teens, and adults with autism (as well as their families, caregivers, and others who support them).

Our storefront location at 565 Main Street in Kingston offers:  a gym area, complete with swings, ball pit, and climbing apparatus, as well as books, games, and toys; a sensory calming room; a lounge / meeting area; a resource lending library.

In 2020 we opened a second location! The new Kentville Autism Centre is located at 495 Main Street in Kentville (the Canada Post / Service Canada building).

Over the years, our programs and supports have included:  preschool play group; social groups; art programs; cooking classes; therapeutic riding; summer day camp; social skills training; swim program; weekend respite; workshops and information sessions; caregiver support group.

Each year in June, we hold a province-wide autism awareness event, Walk the Walk for Autism. All funds raised stay in the community in which they were raised, contributing to the growth of autism programs and services in rural and urban Nova Scotia. Take a step in the right direction and Walk the Walk with us! Walk as an individual, Walk as a team, or Walk as a sponsor! Support your autism community and help enhance programs and services for families and people living with autism.
