Anny Fyreagle
Anny Fyreagle is a multi-faceted creative conductor, a gourmet of artistic gifts, skills and talents that she brings to every occasion with whole heart and passion. A master of intuitive arts she incorporates sound, word, dance, imagery, healing and ritual in everything she undertakes.
Since a young age as a choir vocalist and soloist, Anny has concentrated on her voice as her primary instrument. She has studied classic piano and singing at the Royal Conservatory. In 1980 as part of an eight girl choir she participated in a dance and song festival in Europe. During the festival the choir recorded a medley, which included a solo by Anny, for the national radio station. Ten years later that recording could still be heard on the radio. "...their beautiful clear voices, will reach the hearts of the audience with their artistic skill, well arranged repertoire and moving atmosphere..."
Anny has been teaching and facilitating from an early age. At eighteen she was teaching young children aged 5 to 10 in Polish Folklore Dance. Just a year later she met the challenge of teaching a college management class in stress management. A class she researched and presented on her own. She has participated in and lead circle groups for over 15 years. Anny has also presented in the corporate environment and managed meetings that included 5 departments of up more than 20 people.
As a producer she uses her own unique and sometimes magical approach that empowers those who study with her to "find their own voice". In this regard, her ability to improvise has served her well. Anny has worked with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Gilda’s Club, Hospice Toronto, St. Matthew United Church, The Hazelwood Acoustic Project and performed vocal Improvisation for the Flying Dreams Acrobats at the Youth Choice Event.
She has also facilitated vocal improvisation for Hamilton Women’s Retreat & Hospice Caledon, performed twice at the Power of Peace Concert, operated and facilitated the Riverdale Invitational Retreat Weekends and produced Sonica Sanctus, Dreaming and Big Beat sonic events.
Anny has enormous gratitude for her mentors some of which include internationally acclaimed performers and professional voice coach, Louise Lambert, Bobby McFerrin, Judi Vinar, David Worm, Joey Blake, Doug Sole and Gary Diggins. She is constantly striving to add new depth to her repertoire.
Anny is gifted with an acute intuition which allows her to perceptively sense what would best support either an individual or a group. Her sensitivity to the unspoken and unheard has proven to be a valuable resource in mediation, conflict resolution as well as management of groups of people or chaotic situations. Anny's voice can easily traverse a wide territory of textures and ranges. She is well able to access and convey the entire emotional landscape of a master vocalist. Technically speaking, she embodies good control in areas such as intonation. A unique attribute is Anny's command of overtone harmonics. Her ability in this regard is rare and beautiful to hear.
“Comments from listeners often refer to an "angelic quality" that comes through the purity of her vocalizations.” Gary Diggins
