Black-Owned Market Edmonton (BOM YEG)

BOM YEG is a pop-up style and community-oriented space for Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs & creatives in Edmonton to showcase their products and/or services to the wider community. The goal of BOM YEG is to be a recurring event where we can all safely connect & build together whether or not we are socially distancing. The BOM YEG team is made of trustworthy representatives & leaders from the Albertan Black community.

The goal for BOM YEG is to become a space & platform for small Black-Owned businesses. We aim to support these businesses and creatives while working towards reducing the inequality gap. BOM YEG's primary objectives include but are not limited to:

  • Provide local Black businesses, entrepreneurs & creatives with a platform to sell/share their products, goods, and services
  • Build a sense of community and solidarity among the larger Black community in Edmonton through the creation of a communal gathering place
  • Provide local consumers with the opportunity to access quality goods and services offered by primarily Black-owned initiatives
  • Stimulate long-lasting economic development and investment within Black communities and businesses in Edmonton
  • Provide the wider Edmonton community the opportunity and structure to invest in small Black-owned businesses
