The Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) is Canada's only national membership-based organization whose goals are to promote and advance the development of small business and entrepreneurship through research, education and training, networking and dissemination of scholarly and policy-oriented information. CCSBE is the premier organization dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship through best practices and leading edge perspectives in Canada.
The organization was established in 1979 as the first affiliate of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB). Its members include academics, educators, representatives of small business support organizations, researchers, government officials, students of entrepreneurship, and policy makers. These members influence students and community entrepreneurs across Canada.
CCSBE’s conferences and activities are designed to strengthen its core pillars including the following:
Entrepreneurship education - Furthering the cause of entrepreneurship and small business in the educational system. Members share best practices in pedagogy, course design, and program development.
Research – Encouraging research related to entrepreneurship, new venture creation, innovation and growth of small business.
Public Policy – Supporting ongoing efforts to translate knowledge emerging from research and best practices resulting from entrepreneurial activity, initiatives, and programming incommunities, regions, and nations.
Outreach - Disseminating knowledge and research findings, facilitating networking among members and engaging the entrepreneurial community through hosting conferences, workshops, webinars, service learning, and a host of other initiatives.
