City Walls

City Walls is a Vancouver based modern rock band comprised of Paul Lambert, Tony Lambert, Nate Parsons and Brian Welsch. Their dynamic alternative sound incorporates everything from hard rock riffs and acoustic folk arrangements, to pop vocal harmonies and dirty blues guitar solos.

Formerly performing under the name Louder Than Love, the band became known for stellar live shows, earning themselves opening slots with some of rock’s biggest acts, including Monster Truck, Young the Giant, The Sheepdogs, The Trews, Theory of a Deadman, State of Shock and others.

The band’s debut album Dark Days garnered industry praise and strong commercial radio airplay, peaking at #4 on the Canadian College !earshot radio charts. Second effort, 2010 EP Coming Around, was again met with positive reviews, and following the release the band embarked on a successful Canadian tour, playing packed rooms from coast to coast. They closed the tour to a sold out crowd at the Commodore Ballroom opening for the Trews.  2011 was capped off by winning the prestigious Fox Seeds competition and the title of Best Vancouver Band in the Westender’s annual Best of the City issue.

The band’s third LP Engines, released in 2014, reflects a hightened lyrical depth, with songs revolving around themes of escape, identity and the passing of time. With Lambert’s lead on songwriting, and recorded in partnership with award-winning producers Arnold Lanni and Howard Redekopp, the band achieves a more impactful sound which highlights their strong grasp on a range of melodic directions.

With a new sound, new energy, and new name, Paul Lambert w/City Walls will be releasing a new record in December 2016.
